(77WABC)-Police say some type of dispute during the early morning hours on Friday, May 13th resulted in the fatal stabbing of a 28 year old man at the intersection of West 4th St. and 6th Avenue.
At approximately 01:27 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a man stabbed at the intersection which is within the 6th Precinct. According to NYPD statistics the 6th Precinct experienced an 88% increase in crime from 2021 to 2022.
Police say EMS transported the stabbing victim, Samar Abdulla, to NYC Health & Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was pronounced deceased of stab wounds to his torso.
Further investigation revealed Abdulla, of 70 Battery Ave in Brooklyn, NY, was involved in a dispute with a group of males who fled the location, on foot, prior to arrival of police.
There was no weapon recovered at the scene.
Police say there are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
