NEW YORK (77 WABC) — The U.S. Mexico border crisis is rearing its ugly head. The Biden administration is facing pressure from both sides of the aisle, Democrats and Republicans over its decision to end Title 42.
The Trump era rule, Title 42, allows for the swift expulsion of a majority of immigrants at the U.S. Mexico border due to COVID 19. The Biden administration plans to lift it on May 23rd.
There’s concern it will lead to a flood of asylum seekers into the U.S. Title 42 prevented 90,000 migrants from remaining in the U.S.
