NEW YORK (77WABC) — A tentative deal is reached in avoiding a  New York City doorman strike.  A strike deadline was set for Wednesday.

The union, 32BJ SEIU building workers, and the Realty Advisory Board announced they have reached a tentative agreement before the expiration of the current contract. The agreement contains a 12.6 percent wage increase over four years. A $3,000 dollar bonus for essential workers.  There will be continued full employer paid healthcare. The deal also protects paid sick leave and paid vacation.

The last  doorman strike in New York City was in 1991, when workers were out for 12 days.
