NEW YORK (77WABC) — Face to face peace talks between Russia and Ukraine are resuming today. Ukraine leaders are hoping for a ceasefire in Russia’s war on Ukraine. However, a senior us official has warned, Russian President Vladimir Putin is not ready to make compromises.
The official told Reuters that Putin would not be willing to make concessions at this point. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is in its second month.
Ukraine claims 17,000 Russian soldiers have been killed during the war. Military hardware such as tanks, aircraft, and ships has either been seized or destroyed.
Despite the war not appearing to go the way that Putin had planned, the Russian president does not appear ready to compromise to broker a peace agreement.
