Ketanji Brown Jackson Says She Can’t Define ‘Woman’ Because ‘I’m Not a Biologist’

WASHINGTON (77WABC) — There’s been some drama during the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee’s third day of confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Jackson told Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn that she could not give a definition of the word woman because she is not a biologist.

The question came up as Blackburn questioned Jackson about the case of United States vs. Virginia — a case in which the court ruled that the prohibition of female students by the Virginia Military Institute violated the constitution’s equal protection clause.

It’s not the first time Blackburn and Brown have had a notable back and forth. On Monday, the senator asked the judge if she had a hidden agenda to incorporate critical race theory into the legal system.
