UPDATE: Former Gov. Cuomo to file ethics complaint against AG James over her sexual harassment report-his spokesperson says Cuomo does not intend to run against James for AG

ALBANY (77WABC) -In an hourlong virtual news conference, Rita Glavin, an attorney for former Governor Andrew Cuomo  addressed rumblings that the defiant Cuomo might run again for office. According to the Daily News— asked whether a campaign is coming, she told reporters, “I don’t know.” Cuomo, who has kept a low profile since quitting, has begun to poke his head out recently as rumors grow that he might challenge the reelection bid of state Attorney General Letitia James.

Cuomo’s spokesman, Rich Azzopardi, said Thursday that Cuomo does not intend to run against James.

However, the News is also reporting the former governor is currently sitting on $16.4 million in cash, giving him several options within the influential sphere of New York state politics.

Meantime, Cuomo plans to file a complaint with a state Supreme Court attorney grievance committee targeting Attorney General Letitia James and her report last year alleging Cuomo committed extensive sexual harassment.

In a virtual call with reporters, Cuomo attorney Rita Glavin said Cuomo “feels strongly there was misconduct in the manner” of James’ civil investigation, which led to a report finding he sexually harassed 11 women, allegations he has denied.

“The governor is going to personally make a complaint,” Glavin said during the call.

“There must be accountability, and the chief legal officer will never be inclined to examine what happened here,” Cuomo’s personal attorney, Rita Glavin, said in a media briefing on Thursday announcing the planned action. Glavin added, “He will not let this go.  It is insulting to tell someone who has been wrongly accused and treated unfairly, ‘just move on.’ He’s not going to move on, because the truth is important.”

Glavin claims that the sexual harassment report was biased and omitted key evidence that she said undermined the credibility of some of the women who accused Cuomo of harassment. Glavin also repeatedly argued that James did not release witness transcripts that raised those issues until after she dropped out of the race for governor on Dec. 9th.
