The Harlem shooting comes a day after a NYPD detective was shot in the leg while serving a warrant at a home on Staten Island. In that incident too, the suspect fired first multiple times on police through a bedroom door. The officer in that incident fortunately used a shield to protect himself and fellow officers.
On Tuesday, Officer Kaseem Pennant was shot in the leg while struggling with a teenage suspect in The Bronx. The teen was also arrested recently for gun possession.
