Suffolk County, NY (77WABC)-Suffolk County police say they have arrested the the husband of a Centereach woman whose body was found in the Rocky Point Barrens State Forest off Currans Road in Middle Island.
Police say the victim, 38-year-old Melissa Molinari, was last seen at the home she shared with her husband located at 45 Lolly Lane, on November 21st. She was reported missing on December 2nd. Police say they found the woman’s vehicle at the couple’s residence when she was reported missing.
Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives arrested the woman’s husband, Marcello Molinari, after police found the body of his wife.
Police say Molinari’s husband, Marcello, is charged with 2nd degree murder. The 43-year-old was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip today.
The woman’s body was transported to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be conducted to determine an official cause of death.
A possible motive in the woman’s killing has not yet been made public.
