NEW YORK, NEW YORK -(77WABC) New York City taking the next step in allowing for permanent out door dining.
The City Planning Commission voted Monday to make outdoor dining permanent, although the city council must still vote for final approval.
Outdoor dining sprang to hugh popularity at the height of the COVID pandemic in 2020.
But not everyone is happy about it.
The New York Post reporting that outdoor dining has eaten away well over 8 thousand parking spots in the city.
Still, outdoor dining has most likely saved many restaurants from closing for good.
