A small memorial for Gabby Petito that people left behind after a Candlelight vigil Saturday evening at North Port City Center Front Green. NEW YORK (AP) — The family of slain traveler Gabby Petito, a native of Blue Point Long Island, has implored the public and news media to put the same energy into helping find other missing people as they did Petito. The 22-year-old woman who vanished on a cross-country trip with her boyfriend. She was found in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. Her death has been ruled a homicide.
The woman’s parents and stepparents spoke to reporters Tuesday at a news conference in New York, showing off fresh tattoos based on her designs and mantra “Let it be” as authorities in Florida continued searching for her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie with whom she had been traveling.
He is a person of interest in her disappearance and remains unaccounted for.
Family lawyer, Richard Stafford urged anyone with information about Laundries’ whereabouts to come forward.
The Gabby Petito Foundation is being established. It’s designed to provide resources and guidance to other families searching for their children.
