Town of Brookhaven, NY (77WABC)-Responding to complaints, Suffolk County Police and Town of Brookhaven officials have condemned The Oasis Spa, 595 Route 25A, Suite 20, on Miller Place due to numerous violations documented by town inspectors. An employee of the massage parlor was arrested for allegedly providing unlicensed massages.
Suffolk County Police say under arrest is 52-year-old Guping Duan of Flushing Queens. She is charged with two counts of Unauthorized Practice of a Profession, a Class E Felony under the New York State Education Law. Duan is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on October 8th, 2021.
An investigation began following multiple complains from area residents. Police say taking part in the investigation and raid were officers from the Sixth Precinct Crime Section , the Town of Brookhaven Building Inspector, Town Fire Marshal and Town Investigator.
Police say a criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
