An investigation is underway after a six-year-old girl died Sunday while on the Haunted Mine Drop at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park in Colorado.
The victim, from Colorado Springs, was visiting with her family, according to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.
The amusement park released a statement on Facebook stating in part, “authorities and emergency personnel have been dispatched and an investigation is in progress. Out of respect and concern for all parties involved, we will not have further comment until all details have been confirmed.”
An autopsy is scheduled for this week to determine the cause of death.
The park is closed on Monday and will not be open to the public on Tuesday.
