New York, NY (77WABC)- Â The U.S Open is back! Following the Olympics, the event begins today in Flushing Queens with actual fans in the seats! Â It was held last year as well, but without an audience due to the pandemic. Those 12+ must show proof of vaccination to enter the Billie Jean National Tennis Center.
Some of the biggest US Open ‘headlines’ pertain to those who WON’T be playing this year. Serena Williams, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal are all on that list, along with Dominic Thiem and Venus Williams, who are all unfortunately injured.
Tennis Players Naomi Osaka and Ash Barty will be the ones to watch this year.
To many people’s delight, food is still top of mind for the event as they are adding celebrity chef’s like Alex Guarnaschelli. We’re so excited!
It's about that time 🎾
