New York, NY (77WABC)-Police say three people leaving Manhattan restaurants were robbed at gunpoint of pricy jewelry valued at more than $4 million dollars in two separate incidents. In both armed robberies, two suspects exited a black Mercedes-Benz, with the driver of the vehicle remaining behind.
In the first armed robbery, on Tues. August 14th , two men, a 47-year-old and a 27-year-old had just left TAO Downtown , located at 92 9th Avenue, around 4:20 am. They were walking when at the corner of West 30th Street and Broadway a black Mercedes-Benz parked. Two men got out of the Mercedes and approached the two men. One suspect displayed a handgun demanding the men’s jewelry. Police say multiple chains, necklaces, rings and a Richard Mille watch valued at $4 million dollars were stolen from the 47-year-old man. A medallion necklace stolen from the 27-year-old man is valued at approximately $10,000.
The suspects returned to the Mercedes Benz and fled. Police have released the following video:
A few days later, on Saturday, August 19th, a 34-year-old man who’d just left the Pergola restaurant at 36 West 28th Street around 1:10 am. He was walking toward Broadway when a black Mercedes-Benz approached and parked at the corner. Two suspects exited the Mercedes, approached the man and displayed a firearm. The suspects stole a Cuban necklace, a Tennis Bracelet and an Audemar watch valued at approximately $100,000. The two suspects returned to the Mercedes Benz and fled. The victims were unhurt in both robberies.
Police say the first male suspect has a dark complexion, is approximately 5’0″ tall, and weighs 140 pounds. The second male suspect has a  medium complexion, is approximately 5’2″ tall, and weighs about 140 pounds. There is no description of the driver.
According to police, the Mercedes-Benz had an illuminated emblem on the front of the car, tinted windows and 5-point star rims.
