The World Premiere of ESPN’s Documentary on the 1986 NY Mets Tonight in Central Park

New York, NY (77WABC)- Doors open at 6 PM tonight for the world premiere screening of ESPN’s new documentary about the 1986 Mets to be held in New York’s Central Park.

ESPN Films and Rooftop Films are presenting a special premiere presentation of the first two episodes of ESPN’s new series ’30 for 30 trailer: ‘Once Upon a Time in Queens’, featuring a conversation with director Nick Davis and special guests.

The four-part documentary follows the story of 1986 New York Mets baseball team.

The 1986 NY Mets improved from a 98–64 record in 1985 to finish the season with a franchise record 108–54 record, giving them the division title.

They then went on to defeat the Houston Astros in six games in the NLCS and the American League champion Boston Red Sox in seven games in the World Series, their last championship to date.

The event is being held at Summer Stage in Central Park on 5th Ave.  Entry is allowed beginning at 6 PM. There’s a discussion with filmmaker Nick Davis at 7:30 PM and the screening begins 8:00 PM.
