North Babylon, NY (77WABC)-A 29-year-old Deer Park man was held overnight at the first precinct for Suffolk County Police ahead of his arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip today.
Police say Aliro Palaciostobar is charged with DWI. He allegedly drove in the wrong direction and crashing his van into a Nissan and then into a building at 9 Springwood Drive in North Babylon Monday night around 10:30 pm.
When First Precinct officers arrived at the crash scene, they say they observed Palaciostobar in an intoxicated condition. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for evaluation.
Police say the driver of the Nissan was not hurt. The Town of Babylon Building Inspector was called to evaluate damage to the building.
