New York, NY (77WABC)-At least six suspects are at large following a string of violent robberies, one-armed, within Manhattan.
The NYPD says the robberies began around 11 pm the night of Tuesday, April 27 as a 25-year old man was walking near 76-19 Roosevelt Avenue when six unidentified males approached. The man was punched in his face with assailants stealing the man’s wallet containing $1,000. The man was treated at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst for a head injury.
Two days later, around 1;15 in the morning, a 43-year-old man, was sleeping on a bench in front of 82-20 37th Avenue, when two unidentified males approached and started rifling through his pockets. The man awoke, was punched in his head, and menaced with a knife. The suspects stole the man’s iPhone 11 and $700. Police say the victim refused medical attention.
Later that day, Thursday, April 29th, on the same street as the first incident, 78-14 Roosevelt Avenue, a 60-year-old man was approached by three unidentified males who punched and kicked him multiple times. The suspects stole the man’s wallet containing ID and $120. The victim also refused medical attention.
