New Haven, CT (77WABC)-An early morning fire at a two-and-a-half-story residence in New Haven has left one firefighter dead.

Three others were hurt fighting the fire including a firefighter reported to be in critical condition.
The blaze broke out around 1 am at the home on Valley Street.
A female resident was seen being taken on a stretcher to an awaiting ambulance.
The fire is reportedly under control.
CT State Troopers are on scene assisting fire investigators.
