A Long Island Tenant Arrested for Placing A Camera In His Landlord’s Bathroom

East Patchogue, NY (77WABC)-A tenant living in his landlord’s residence on Case Avenue was placed under arrest by officers from Suffolk County’s Fifth Precinct after his landlord’s family discovered a camera had been placed in a bathroom of their home without permission.

Police say they received a phone call from the owner of the home on Case Avenue last Thursday reporting to police that she had located a miniature video camera in the bathroom of her home. Following an investigation by Fifth Squad detectives,  Cristian Marca, a tenant in the house, was arrested on Saturday, May 8th at approximately 8:45 a.m.

Investigators say the 37-year-old  was found to be in possession of video and private images of the residents of the house. In addition to Marca, there were two adults and four children living in the residence at the time.

Marca is charged with two counts of Unlawful Surveillance 2nd Degree. He was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday, May 9th.
