HIGHWINDS
National Weather Service (77WABC)-A high wind advisory has been issued for the Tri-State area until early Saturday morning. The National Weather Service says winds are forecast to gust as high as 55 mph with isolated gusts to 60 mph possible. The forecast calls for west winds of 25 to 35 mph.
Loss of power and felled trees are possible along with dangers from blowing debris. People are advised to use extreme caution and never to approach downed wires, always assume they are live, and to notify your utility.
The NWS says to “use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle,” and to “secure outdoor objects.”
A Wind Advisory has been issued for the entire region beginning 10 AM Friday.
Sustained winds of 25-35 mph is expected through the day, with gusts up to 55 mph at times.

High winds are predicted for portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut, and southeast New York:

The warning is posted until 6 am Sat. morning.
