New York, NY (77WABC)-Six arrests during last night’s demonstration at Columbus Circle after the USS Maine National Monument was vandalized.
Anti-police slogans were spray-painted in various colors at the base of the statue after 10 pm.
Those arrested face charges of assault and property damage.

The NYPD tweeted out they respect the right to peaceful protests but police will go after those responsible for vandalism in any instance.
