The Commander Of The NYPD’s 107th Precinct in Queens Dies By Suicide

Queens, NY (77WABC)-Published reports say the Commander of the NYPD’s 107th Precinct in Queens died by suicide Monday.

The NY Post reports Deputy Inspector Denis Mullaney fatally shot himself in the head inside a department vehicle near Kissena Park. Mullaney reportedly called family members, a call which led them to believed he was suicidal. By the time police were able to locate Mullaney, it was too late.

A source told the Post officers tried to locate Mullaney’s phone, but by the time they got to his vehicle on Underhill Avenue near the Brooklyn-Queens Greenway Mullaney was already dead.

Funeral services have not yet been announced.

Ten NYPD officer’s committed suicide in 2019.
