CBS’ talk show “The Talk” is going on a brief hiatus on Monday, March 15 and Tuesday, March 16 as an investigation is underway into Sharon Osbourne’s defense of former host of “Good Morning Britain” Piers Morgan during an episode on Wednesday, March 10. Piers Morgan made controversial comments about Meghan Markle’s recent interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Sharon Osbourne defended Morgan on an episode of “The Talk” and tweeted out:
. @piersmorgan I am with you. I stand by you. People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth.

Sharon Osbourne stated in a tweet, “To anyone of color that I offended and/or to anyone that feels confused or let down by what I said, I am truly sorry.”
She went on to state, “I hope we can collectively continue to learn from each other & from ourselves so we can all continue to pave the way for much needed growth and change.”
Piers Morgan responded to the announcement of the hiatus with a tweet.
So @CBS has yanked The Talk off air while it investigates the ‘scandal’ of @MrsSOsbourne defending me when @sherylunderwood said I was ‘racist’ for disbelieving Meghan Markle.
The REAL scandal is me being branded a racist for refusing to believe a liar. pic.twitter.com/KPu8ZB2YKo— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) March 15, 2021
The show is scheduled to return to set to film on Wednesday, March 17.
