(Brooklyn, NY/77WABC)-Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 77-year-old Sheepshead Bay woman missing from the family’s residence on Bedford Ave. in Brooklyn after her 46-year-old son fatally set himself on fire early Tuesday in the backyard of the family’s home.
Police say firefighters responded to a 911 call of a fire and put out the blaze around 5:35 am. A witness told police that the man poured a flammable liquid on himself before setting himself on fire. The NYPD says the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A search is ongoing for the man’s mother, 77-year-old mother Patricia Ventre of 4547 Bedford Ave. in Brooklyn, NY.
Ventre is 5’1 tall and weighs 120 lbs:
