Police Hoping The Public Can Help Identify A Suspect In A Subway Push

(New York, NY/77WABC)-A 72-year-old was suddenly, without provocation, shoved to the platform as he stepped onto the number “7” train at the 5th Ave/West 42nd Street Subway Station at 9:35 am on Thursday, Feb, 11th.

The NYPD says the unidentified male suspect pushed the victim from behind causing him to fall to the platform after the subway doors opened. The unknown individual then fled the station.

Police say the victim was transported by EMS to NYU Hospital. The man suffered swelling and bruising about his face and body.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
