Attempted Gunpoint Robbery In the Bronx The NYPD Seeking Suspects

(New York, NY-77WABC)-The NYPD is seeking suspects in connection with a brutal attempted armed robbery of a livery cab driver in the Bronx, NY.

Shortly after midnight on Tues. January 12, 2021, a 42-year-old male livery cab driver picked up two individuals in front of 595 Calhoun Avenue and drove the fare to 1480 Rosedale Avenue in the Bronx, NY.  One of the individuals displayed a firearm, pointed it at the victim, struck the victim in the head with the firearm, and demanded money and property. The other individual placed his hands around the victim’s neck. The victim fought off the individuals and grabbed the firearm, rendering it inoperable.

Police say the unidentified individuals were unable to remove any property and fled westbound on Tremont Avenue.

The livery cab driver refused medical attention at the scene.
