(New York, New York) – New York City gets a calm start to the week Monday, with mostly sunny skies and afternoon temperatures hovering near 82 before a warmer, more unsettled pattern returns.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for a mostly clear Monday night with lows near 70. Tuesday should stay mostly sunny for much of the day, but a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms returns after 5 p.m. as south winds pick up.
The bigger heat arrives Wednesday, when the city is expected to climb near 91 with another slight storm chance. For commuters, outdoor workers and anyone planning early Fourth of July week events, the best window looks like Monday into early Tuesday before humidity and late-day storm chances start to matter again.
