(New York, New York) – New York City is getting a clean midweek weather break, with mostly sunny skies and a warmer feel building through Wednesday. The National Weather Service says mainly dry conditions are expected as high pressure keeps the city and nearby suburbs comfortable for the morning and evening commute.
Temperatures are expected to move higher than earlier in the week, with much of the region approaching or reaching the 80s. The city will feel more like early summer by afternoon, while coastal spots may stay a little cooler if a sea breeze develops.
Thursday should continue the warming trend with another mainly dry day. The bigger change arrives closer to the weekend, when hotter air builds in and the next chance for showers begins to show up later Saturday into Sunday.
For now, outdoor plans around the city look mostly fine through Thursday. The main advice is to use the dry stretch wisely before the forecast turns warmer and more unsettled for the back half of the weekend.
