(New York, New York) – Former MSNBC host Joy Reid says she is struggling to support the New York Giants after quarterback Jaxson Dart introduced President Trump at a public event.

Reid, who described herself as a lifelong Giants fan, criticized Dart over the appearance and called him an “idiot.”

The backlash comes as Dart continues to draw attention for his public support of Trump, turning what would normally be an offseason football story into a political fight.

Supporters of Dart argue he should not be attacked for appearing with a president or expressing his own views.

Critics, including Reid, say the moment crossed a line for fans who do not want politics mixed with their team.
