(New York, NY) – President Donald Trump is calling out former FBI Director James Comey for a controversial post on social media. Comey is now facing federal charges for threatening the president’s life after he posted a picture of seashells arranged to say “86 47”. Many have taken this post as a direct call to action against Trump – the 47th commander in chief. Now, those concerns have materialized into a federal case. Comey is being charged with making a threat against the president.
Comey turned himself into authorities in Virginia. A previous indictment was tossed by a judge after they found the acting US Attorney for the Eastern District – Lindsay Halligan – was never properly installed to the position. After a brief hearing that reportedly lasted less than 10 minutes, Comey was able to walk out of the courthouse without any specific conditions for release. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is confident that Comey will be held accountable for the post.
