(New York, NY) – Following another DUI arrest, golf star Tiger Woods is taking a break from both the sport and the spotlight. Woods announced on social media that he is focusing on recovery and treatment. He said he is “stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment”. He said he is “committed to taking the time needed” to come back a healthier version of himself. He ended the statement asking for privacy.

Woods was arrested in Florida last Friday, his fourth car accident since 2009. Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said Woods tried to speed around a truck, but swerved back into his lane because of oncoming traffic. He ended up clipping the truck he was trying to pass and completely flipped his Range Rover.

Woods did not suffer any injuries, he did not test for any alcohol but was expected to be under the influence of some sort of drug. He refused a urinalysis test, raising the red flag for authorities which ultimately led to his arrest. Woods previously pled guilty to DUI in 2017 also in Florida.
