Trump Pauses Iran Strikes

(Washington, DC / Tehran, Iran) – President Donald Trump announced Monday that the United States and Iran have engaged in what he described as “very good and productive conversations,” signaling a potential de-escalation in rising Middle East tensions.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said discussions between the two countries over the past two days have focused on achieving a “complete and total resolution” of hostilities in the region.

“Based on the tenor and tone of these in-depth, detailed, and constructive conversations,” Trump wrote, “I have instructed the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five day period.”

The pause in potential military action, he added, is contingent on continued progress in negotiations, which are expected to carry on throughout the week.

The statement comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions and speculation over possible U.S. strikes targeting Iran’s energy sector. While Trump did not provide specific details about the nature of the talks or who is participating, the announcement suggests a temporary shift toward diplomacy.

It remains unclear how Iranian officials have responded publicly to the claim or whether formal agreements are being negotiated.

The five-day delay in military action could provide a critical window for both sides to pursue a diplomatic resolution and avoid further escalation in an already volatile region.
