(New York, New York) — A commanding officer in the New York City Police Department is facing serious allegations after a female officer filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and harassment inside a Bronx precinct.

According to a lawsuit filed in Bronx Supreme Court, Inspector Jeremy Scheublin, who previously commanded the NYPD’s 46th Precinct in Fordham Heights, allegedly groped and assaulted a subordinate officer during a meeting in his office on January 1, 2025.

The officer, identified in court documents only as N.T., claims Scheublin called her into his office to discuss firearms training before attempting to place his hand on her neck. When she pushed his hand away, the lawsuit alleges Scheublin told her he “didn’t know whether to kiss or choke” her.

The complaint further alleges the inspector grabbed her buttocks, threw her onto a couch in his office and attempted to kiss her while pinning her down. During the alleged encounter, Scheublin reportedly made a racially charged remark, telling the officer he wanted to “make biracial babies” with her.

The officer claims she fought him off and eventually escaped the office after kicking him in the groin. She then reported the incident to a lieutenant, which led to the case being referred to the department’s Internal Affairs Bureau.

According to the lawsuit, Scheublin later attempted to offer the officer high-paying specialized assignments that could have increased her salary by roughly $50,000 per year. The officer alleges she interpreted the offers as an attempt to silence her about the alleged assault and declined them.

The lawsuit also claims Scheublin retaliated after learning she reported the incident, including assigning her early-morning shifts despite her having young children.

Despite the allegations, Scheublin was later promoted and transferred in January 2026 to Patrol Borough Bronx. He remains on duty while the matter is under investigation.

Attorneys representing the officer say the case could lead to criminal charges. The Bronx District Attorney’s Office has reportedly been referred the case, though prosecutors have not confirmed whether an active investigation is underway.

The NYPD said the allegations are being investigated. Scheublin could not immediately be reached for comment.
