(New York, New York) – The New England Patriots are stepping in to help Americans overseas, offering their team aircraft to assist in the evacuation of U.S. citizens from the Middle East as tensions in the region continue to escalate.
According to the United States Department of State, the Patriots made their team plane available to support evacuation efforts, helping transport Americans seeking to leave the region safely. The move comes as U.S. officials work to coordinate departures for citizens amid ongoing instability and security concerns.
While sports teams are typically associated with game-day travel, the Patriots’ aircraft has now been repurposed for a humanitarian mission — assisting the U.S. government in getting Americans out of harm’s way.
Officials have not yet released details on how many passengers the aircraft will carry or exactly which locations the evacuation flights will serve.
