(Highpoint, NC) – A former State representative in North Carolina has been indicted on child sex abuse charges less than six months after his arrest. Cecil Brockman previously represented District 60 – including the Highpoint area of the state. Court records show that Brockman is accused of having repeated sexual contact with a 15 year-old that he was living with at the time of the abuse. He is facing three counts of statutory sex offense with someone under 15, three counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Brockman was initially arrested in the beginning of October 2025. He resigned at the end of the month after the Speaker Destin Hall announced he was opening a bipartisan investigation into his crimes. Local reports say he moved the teen victim from Atlanta to his home. Following the indictment he was taken back into custody and refused bond due to newly passed Iryna’s law – preventing release for certain charges.Â
