(New York, New York) – 77’s Sid Rosenberg reignited controversy on X this week after returning to the platform following a previous ban, launching a heated social media attack on New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and drawing sharp rebukes from prominent local Democrats.
In a post shared on X, Rosenberg directed a public plea to former President Donald Trump, calling him “the best President in the 250-year history of our country” and urging him to confront New York City’s mayor over what Rosenberg described as “America-hating” rhetoric.
Rosenberg’s message singled out Mamdani — a progressive Democrat and New York’s first Muslim Mayor — labeling him a “Jihadist America hating mayor” and a “Radical Islam cockroach,” urging Trump to “put this little antisemite in his place.” He also framed Mamdani’s criticisms of immigration enforcement and other national policy positions as unpatriotic.
The post quickly drew condemnation:
Sid, you really don’t know anything about @ZohranKMamdani. @NYCMayor loves our city and our country, hates all forms of prejudice, opposes political violence and wants to unify us. Which is helluva lot more than I can say for you since you just can’t stop spewing hate. https://t.co/NWkdFOU4xI

Responding to de Blasio’s criticism, Rosenberg doubled down, posting:
I know him. And I know you. And you both are terrible mayors. https://t.co/3wQBKFMPfm

New York City’s Comptroller, Mark Levine also got into the mix…
Calling the mayor of NYC a “Radical Islam cockroach” is absolutely disgusting.
NYC’s nearly 1 million Muslim residents are a vibrant, diverse and wonderful part of our city and they deserve much better than this bigotry. https://t.co/lTzfY0S0WF
