(Jerusalem) – Following this weekend’s air strikes against Iran — launched by the US and Israeli militaries in join operation — have sparked a lot of questions. What will this mean for the US military, long-term?
On Sunday, US Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas insisted President Trump does not plan to send troops into the warzone. So, hopefully, no “boots on the ground.” But Trump does reportedly expect a protracted air and naval battle in Iran.
Even among members of the so-called MAGA movement, there are concerns. Will Iran become another Afghanistan or Iraq? Are we forgetting the lessons learned in Korea and Vietnam? Also, given the ongoing uprisings and anti-Islamic Republic sentiment in Iran, is significant change on the horizon?
