(New York, New York) – Years after Jeffrey Epstein’s death inside a Manhattan federal jail cell, the debate clearly isn’t over — at least not in the court of public opinion.

Our team hit the streets of New York City and asked a simple question: Do you think Jeffrey Epstein is still alive?

The responses were anything but uniform.

Some New Yorkers said they firmly believe Epstein died in custody in 2019, pointing to official investigations that ruled his death a suicide. Others, however, expressed deep skepticism — citing the high-profile nature of his case, his powerful connections, and lingering unanswered questions as reasons they aren’t convinced.

“I just don’t buy it,” one Manhattan resident told us. “Too many things don’t add up.”

Another passerby pushed back on conspiracy theories. “There’s no proof he’s alive. People just don’t trust the system.”

Epstein, a convicted sex offender who was facing federal sex trafficking charges at the time of his death, had ties to wealthy and influential figures around the world. His death at the Metropolitan Correctional Center sparked widespread scrutiny, multiple investigations, and years of speculation online.

While federal authorities have maintained that Epstein died by suicide, public suspicion continues to surface — especially on social media.

As the mixed reactions from New Yorkers show, the questions — and the distrust — haven’t gone away.
