(Kabul) – Reports circulating Thursday claim the Pakistan Air Force carried out airstrikes targeting Taliban leadership positions in Afghanistan’s capital city.

According to early accounts, Pakistani aircraft allegedly bombed what was described as the Taliban’s headquarters in Kabul. Some reports claim that senior Taliban leaders were among those killed, along with approximately 200 militants.

Those casualty figures have not been independently verified.

There has been no immediate official confirmation from either the Pakistani government or Taliban authorities regarding the scope of the operation or the reported deaths.

If confirmed, the strike would represent a significant escalation between Pakistan and Afghanistan’s Taliban leadership, amid ongoing tensions over border security and militant activity along the Durand Line.

Regional analysts have warned in recent months that cross-border skirmishes and accusations of harboring militants have strained relations between Islamabad and Kabul.

More details are expected as officials from both countries respond to the reports.
