The deposition was briefly paused after right-wing commentator Benny Johnson posted a photo from inside the room, according to a Clinton adviser.

Johnson said the image had been shared with him by Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), an apparent violation of House rules prohibiting unauthorized recording or photography during closed-door proceedings.
It was not immediately clear whether the committee would take any formal action regarding the incident.
(Washington DC) – Hillary Clinton is set to testify today in a closed-door deposition before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee as part of the panel’s investigation into the federal government’s handling of cases involving disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.
This page will be updated throughout the day as developments unfold.
What Today’s Deposition Will Cover
According to a source familiar with the agreed-upon terms, Clinton’s testimony will focus on:
-
The federal government’s handling of investigations into Epstein and Maxwell
-
Whether Epstein and Maxwell exploited relationships with powerful figures to shield themselves from scrutiny
-
Broader ethics concerns involving elected officials and federal agencies
The deposition follows an agreement between Clinton and the committee regarding the scope of questioning. Notably, topics unrelated to the Epstein investigation — including the 2012 Benghazi attack and Clinton’s private email server — are not expected to be part of today’s session.
The committee has also agreed to examine potential mishandling of the Epstein case at the federal level, including prosecutorial decisions made years after former President Bill Clinton left office.
Background: The Epstein Investigation
Epstein was arrested in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges and later died in jail while awaiting trial. Maxwell was convicted in 2021 of sex trafficking and related offenses. Their cases have fueled years of scrutiny over alleged connections to prominent political, business, and cultural figures.
Neither Hillary Clinton nor Bill Clinton has been accused of wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.
Hillary Clinton has said she does not recall meeting Epstein. Bill Clinton has acknowledged flying on Epstein’s private plane multiple times but has maintained he never visited Epstein’s private island and had no knowledge of criminal conduct.
