(Washington, DC) – President Donald Trump took to Truth Social following his 2026 State of the Union address, launching a blistering attack on several Democratic lawmakers and Hollywood actor Robert De Niro.

In the lengthy post, Trump criticized Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib for their visible reactions during the address, accusing them of behaving “uncontrollably” and calling them “mentally deranged.”

Trump also suggested the two lawmakers should be “sent back from where they came,” a remark that echoes previous controversial statements he has made about members of Congress.

The president expanded his criticism to actor Robert De Niro, referring to him as “Trump Deranged” and accusing him of making comments that were “seriously criminal,” though he did not specify what statements he was referencing.

Trump additionally mentioned comedian Rosie O’Donnell, contrasting her with De Niro while criticizing both.

Post-Speech Fallout

The social media post came just hours after Trump delivered the longest State of the Union address in modern history, a speech that lasted nearly one hour and 48 minutes. During the address, several Democratic lawmakers were visibly critical, while Republicans offered frequent applause.

As of publication, neither Omar nor Tlaib had publicly responded to Trump’s remarks. De Niro has also not issued a statement.

Trump concluded his post by touting what he described as a stronger and more prosperous America under his leadership.

The comments are likely to intensify already heightened partisan tensions in Washington following the State of the Union.
