(Washington, DC) – President Donald Trump delivered his 2026 State of the Union address Tuesday night before a joint session of Congress, outlining his agenda for the year ahead and highlighting accomplishments since returning to office.
The address came at a pivotal moment for the administration, just days after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the president does not have authority to impose sweeping tariffs under an emergency powers law — a decision that dealt a blow to his trade strategy. Trump has vowed to pursue alternative legal avenues to continue implementing tariffs.
The speech also unfolded amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran. Diplomatic talks regarding Iran’s nuclear program are ongoing, though the president has not ruled out military action if negotiations fail.
