(Washington, DC) – Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) is facing renewed scrutiny after denying she made controversial remarks about “white men,” despite video footage circulating online that appears to show her making the statement during a past interview.

The exchange unfolded Wednesday, one day after Omar drew attention for her visible reactions during President Donald Trump’s 2026 State of the Union address.

The Exchange

In a clip posted to social media by LindellTV, a reporter questioned Omar about prior comments in which she allegedly said Americans “should be more fearful of white men.”

“I never said that,” Omar responded when confronted with the quote.

The reporter then claimed she was “on video” making the statement and appeared to show her footage of the clip in question. Omar again denied making the remark and said the comments were taken from an FBI study she was referencing at the time.

The 2018 Clip

The resurfaced video appears to originate from a 2018 interview in which Omar was discussing Islamophobia and domestic terrorism.

When asked about claims that rising Islamophobia stemmed from fear of jihadist terrorism, Omar responded:
