(New York, New York) – A doctor who was present during Jeffrey Epstein’s autopsy is now claiming the disgraced financier was strangled, not hanged.
According to the report, the physician disputes the official ruling that Epstein died by suicide in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019. The doctor reportedly argues that certain findings from the autopsy are more consistent with strangulation than self-inflicted hanging.
Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. The New York City medical examiner ruled his death a suicide by hanging, though questions and speculation have persisted for years.
Officials have not announced any change to the official cause of death.
