(New York, New York) – Stephen A. Smith delivered a fiery defense of President Donald Trump during a recent broadcast, blasting ongoing calls for impeachment as pointless and politically tone-deaf.
During a heated exchange with a caller, Smith snapped:
“I’m sick of this! Let me tell you something right now. The hell with impeaching Donald Trump.”
Smith referenced Trump’s prior legal battles, noting that the former president was convicted on 34 felony counts last year.
“You convicted him. 34 felony counts. How many more convictions can they give him, Michael? How many more? What did he do?!” Smith said.
He then emphasized that despite the convictions, Trump ultimately returned to office.
“Not only did he not go to jail; he went to the White House! Stop wasting our time with all of this.”
Smith’s comments quickly circulated online, with supporters praising him for what they described as a “reality check” on repeated impeachment efforts, while critics accused him of minimizing serious legal concerns.
The remarks add to a growing debate within media circles over whether continued legal and impeachment-focused efforts against Trump resonate with voters — or fatigue them.
