(Washington, DC) – White House border czar Tom Homan announced Thursday that federal immigration authorities have located 3,364 previously unaccounted-for migrant children in Minnesota.
According to Homan, the children were identified during recent enforcement and tracking operations conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in coordination with other federal agencies.
Homan did not immediately provide additional details about the circumstances surrounding how the children were classified as “missing,” how long they had been unaccounted for, or where they were located.
The announcement comes amid heightened national debate over immigration enforcement and federal tracking of unaccompanied minors who enter the United States.
Federal officials have previously acknowledged gaps in follow-up procedures for migrant children released to sponsors, prompting calls from lawmakers for stronger oversight and accountability measures.
Further details from ICE are expected.
