(Milan, Italy) – There is a lot of action going on at the Olympics, and many rumors online circulate about all the action athletes are getting in Olympic Village. The sex lives of the world’s greatest athletes took over headlines after Norway’s Sturla Holm Lægreid took a post race interview to apologize to his scorned former love.
Lægreid was unable to contain his emotions after earning the Bronze in the men’s 20km biathlon. In an interview with Norway’s NRK, he admitted to cheating on his romantic partner of 6 months when they were only 3 months into the fresh relationship. Lægreid claimed it was the biggest mistake of his life, and said he wished he could share the glory of the win with his ex. He says his sporting career has come second in his life.
While others at the games have their sights set on the gold, he just can’t stop thinking about the one that got away. The gesture was unable to win back the ex, who told Norwegian news outlets that she struggles with forgiveness even after the shocking confession. She confirmed they have been in touch and thanked her loved ones getting her through this very public breakup.
