(New York, New York) – Fortnite has issued an official response after bizarre online rumors began circulating on social media claiming disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein is still alive and secretly playing Fortnite.
The conspiracy theory gained traction after users on X and Reddit shared screenshots and jokes alleging that a mysterious Fortnite player was actually Epstein, sparking widespread speculation and viral memes across gaming communities.

While the claims were widely mocked by many online, the speed at which the rumor spread forced Epic to publicly address the situation – highlighting once again how quickly internet conspiracies can spiral out of control.
Epstein was found dead in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges, a case that has continued to fuel speculation and conspiracy theories years later.
Epic Games has not indicated any further action beyond its statement, but the incident underscores how viral misinformation can drag even gaming giants into responding to the internet’s most outlandish claims.
