(New York, New York) – A viral video circulating on social media shows a group of left-wing activists occupying a Target store in Minnesota, chanting “We are Somali” as part of a protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The demonstration, filmed inside the retail store, appears to disrupt shoppers as protesters sing and chant in what supporters describe as an anti-deportation message. Critics online blasted the scene as performative activism and accused demonstrators of targeting everyday Americans rather than lawmakers or federal officials.
The clip quickly sparked backlash, with commentators arguing the protest highlights how far political activism has shifted from organized demonstrations to disruptive stunts in private businesses.
