(New York, New York) – WABC’s Sid Rosenberg marked his 10-year anniversary at WABC Radio with a sweeping, headline-grabbing interview featuring former President Donald J. Trump, touching on global conflict, hostages, crime, and New York politics.

Rosenberg opened the milestone broadcast with high praise for Trump, calling him “the greatest president ever,” before welcoming him on air. The interview quickly turned to international developments, where Trump announced what he described as a major breakthrough involving hostages.

“Well, we have good news,” Trump said. “You know, we got the last, as you know, the hostages back, and we get the last of the dead back.” He emphasized the significance of the moment, adding, “Everyone said that would be impossible. We just got the last one back,” and later reiterating, “And now we got all of the dead back. Remember?”

Rosenberg highlighted the emotional impact of the situation, noting how parents desperately wanted the return of their child’s body. Trump contrasted the outcome with what he argued would have happened under Democratic leadership, saying, “If Biden was the president or if Harris, God forbid, she would have won, those people would still be in those tunnels getting raped, getting murdered.” He added plainly, “It would be awful.”

The discussion then turned to Israel and Iran, where Trump argued that Israel’s very existence was at stake during recent negotiations. “You wouldn’t have Israel,” he said. “I don’t think Israel would be around during that 60 day negotiation… I really don’t think you would have had Israel around.”

Trump also addressed ongoing threats from Iran, stating, “Iran keeps threatening us. They keeps threatening you,” while expressing confidence in the broader trajectory. “This Iran thing will eventually get fixed and go America’s way. Israel’s way. And quite frankly, President Trump, the world’s way.”

During the anniversary broadcast, Trump revealed a significant military posture in the region. “We have a big armada going over there right now, and hopefully we won’t have to use it,” he said, repeating later, “Hopefully we won’t have to use it.”

Rosenberg steered the conversation back home, pressing Trump on crime and federal intervention in U.S. cities. Trump defended aggressive tactics, saying, “We send in the military, we send in the National Guard. We do what we have to do.” He cited reductions in violent crime, claiming, “Look at Memphis. Crime is down 77% in four weeks,” and describing Washington, D.C. as transformed, adding, “There’s no crime whatsoever. It’s amazing.”

Politics and New York leadership also featured prominently. Trump described the nature of political relationships bluntly: “They’ll be so nice to me… and then you’ll see them three days later on a show or something, and they’ll be knocking the hell out of you.” He summed it up simply: “It’s politics. It’s a nasty world. It’s a nasty profession.”

On New York’s future, Trump said, “What I want to see is I want to see New York be successful,” while warning that economic decisions like building a major stock exchange in Texas were “a real bad thing” and “not a positive thing for New York.”

The interview capped a decade-long run for Rosenberg at WABC, underscoring the show’s role as a platform for unfiltered political conversation. Ten years in, Rosenberg marked the milestone the same way he built his audience – with a no-holds-barred, wide-ranging conversation featuring one of the most polarizing figures in American politics.
